What conditions does my home require to make a homefilm?
Many believe that homefilms are exclusively reserved to high-class real estate. This is not true, we believe that anyone selling their home, regardless of its price, needs to present it to its potential buyers in the best and most effective way. You will be optimally competitive and reach a greater audience, giving them the unique opportunity to visit your home without leaving theirs.
The sole condition required is obviously that the house should be presentable, meaning it should be clean and in good shape, and show no obvious failures.
How long does a home-film last?
This depends on the size of the home, but we tend not to make the homefilm too long and risk boring the audience. Usually the home-film will last between 3 and 5 minutes, always presenting the best possible mix between providing information and holding the audience’s attention.
What if the weather conditions are poor?
Generally, we evaluate the weather forecast 24 hours prior to the appointment. The appointment will only be cancelled and postponed in conditions of rainy weather or worse.
How long does the shooting of footage last?
In general, the cameraman should be in and out of your home between 1 and 2 hours. He will need to shoot about 15 to 20 minutes of footage in total, but also set up his material, and look for angles and lighting conditions.
The owner of the house does not especially need to be present, but at least someone should be there to provide entrance to the property (mostly the agent).
Can everyone view my homefilm on the internet?
We have based the quality and speed of the home-films on the most common and basic broadband internet connections, requiring a minimum download-speed of 80 to 100 Kbytes/sec. Below that, the quality is too poor for the home-film to meet its objectives. Considering the evolution of internet and broadband connections, we believe that any problems regarding compatibility of speed should soon resolve themselves.
Furthermore, the home-films are published on the net in flash-video format, the most compatible format available on any computer with internet explorer installed.
How do people know there is a film of my house on the internet?
First of all, you should clearly have this stated in the description of your home. Ask your agent if he can put a link to the homefilm in his website, putting viewers just one mouse-click away from the homefilm. If required, we can provide assistance in doing so. Anyone using the standard means to search for real estate will be clearly notified of the home-film, and will most certainly be inclined to view it.
Why is there background music on my home-film?
The combination of images and sound is essential to pass the right message to your audience, and if the appropriate music is added, the viewer will see your home in a new dimension, tasting more of the atmosphere and emotions of the house.
We use right free music of many sorts and styles, always providing the home-film with the most appropriate type of background music.
Can I also have a home-film made of my second home abroad for rental purposes?
We are fully investigating possibilities of settling in touristic renowned areas, and so far we have opened office in the south of France, offering services to many real-estate agents selling and renting holiday homes. We will keep you informed as changes occur.
Can I also have a home-film made of a rental home?
Yes, of course. All previously stated arguments apply fully to the rental market.
What do I need to do to participate in the production of the home-film?
Basically, sit back, relax and enjoy the show!
If you have specific demands or questions, don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll see what we can do, within the boundaries of our own objectives.
You can also evidently make sure your home is cleaned up, as if a real visit were to take place. Remember that for most people, the home-film will be their first acquaintance with your home.
Can the digital brochure be played on any CD- or DVD-player?
No, first of all, the digital brochure contains more data than just a home-film. For instance photos, text, hyperlinks and the interface itself. Therefore the digital brochure isn’t compatible with any stand-alone dvd-player. However, the owner of the house will receive a dvd-version of the home-film for means of viewing on TV-sets (only with the standard and exclusive modules).
Secondly, if the digital brochure is published on a mini cd-rom (8cm instead of 12), it will not load into front loading cd- or dvd-rom players as often seen on i-mac computers.
The brochure is fully compatible with virtually any kind of windows based pc or laptop and needs no software previously installed.
How many digital brochures are included?
In a standard contract, you will receive 25 digital brochures, but you can order as many as you wish, in packs of 10.
How long does it take to produce the home-films and digital brochures?
After shooting the footage, we aim to deliver the full package within 5 to 7 days. Exceptionnally, this might last just a few days more. The home-film itself can be published on the internet within approximately 3 days.
